In anticipation of launching my Author website, I contemplated how I could bring together the elements of my Children’s stories into a single forum, and what better way to do this than throw a party! Thank you to the wonderful Mums and their beautiful children for making the website shoot a fun and memorable day. The children were at fever pitch as they got to hold a rabbit (many for the first time), cuddle Bailey the Border Collie and Loui the smooth-coated Cavoodle – all characters in my books! There were lots of games and goodies, including a game of pin the tail on Opal that had everyone in a spin (see more photos on my Facebook and Insta pages). A big shout out also to Paige, Lydia and Katelyn for kindly allowing us to appreciate their beautiful rabbits, and teaching us how to care for these gentle and fragile bundles of joy. Another big thank you to Hayley Daniel for her delightful portrait of Opal. See how you can win a pet portrait of your own, in my next blog. Thank you Alain and Tanya from Rah Studios for the amazing photos and video, and last but never least, my amazing support squad xxx

What better way to kick off my first blog, than to highlight the power of friendship and the support I have received on my literary journey thus far? In the August 1 - 2, 2020 edition of the Weekend Australian magazine (my soul food for the week ahead), I came across an article that resonated so loudly, I jumped out of bed at 3 am the following morning and emailed a note to their inbox, which ultimately appeared under the heading 'We're not alone.' The fierce leader I reference in the article is Jane Kilderry-Jones, who provides us all with a weekly dose of humour, often at her own expense, blended with boot camp, gym classes and lots of coffee ... pretty much a holistic healer to her numerous clients, who immediately become friends. Here's to all the 'Janes' in our lives and the power of women. To access the article I refer to, please go to The Weekend Australian .
